Commentary
A fashion in these times, is for children (particularly boys) to idolise fictional superhero characters with special, superhuman powers.

However, it’s not easy being a superhero.

Sock Man & Invisible Monkey
(It’s not easy being a superhero)

Sock Man is surely going to save the human race

by dangling his stinky socks in any baddy’s face
and legend in future will surely tell
how his socks overpowered them with the smell.
But disaster struck and his strength was gone
when he forgot to put his gas-mask on.

It’s not easy being a superhero.
Expectations can be rather high.

You can’t suddenly just disappear.  No.
And whatever you do, you can’t give up and cry.

Invisible Monkey planned to keep the world free
using his spectacles of invisibility.
From Powers of Evil he’d protect us all.
They would not see him.  He’d be invisible.
But when he put his magic glasses on
everything he needed to see was gone.

It’s not easy being a superhero.
Expectations can be rather high.

You’re not allowed to run away or fear.  No.

And whatever you do do do not get old or die.
