Commentary
Another song which was difficult to write.

"Ever fallen in love with someone you shouldn't have fallen in love with?"

This was about my first cross-cultural relationship.  All these years later,, I still fear that putting her name into the public domain could potentially damage her  & her relatives.

I'd forgotten just how beautiful you are.

Then I saw you in that video wearing that red dress
- the one with white sleeves.

Oh those looks you gave me will stay with me always.

I'd forgotten just how beautiful you are

and you treat me like a king and I choke on my tears.

How can I hurt you this way?
 - to tell you that it's over,
that we do not belong together.

Well I don't belong here - and you do.

I'd forgotten just how beautiful you are

and you are, oh how you are.

Stars shine out from the night sky that you are

and you are, oh how you are

and you're so near

but I'm so far.

In different places the same words
 mean different things, my love.

I don't want a servant
but perhaps you want a prince

like that famous singer who died

- the one you cried for.

Don't you cry for me.

Cry for what we know that we can never be.

I'd forgotten just how beautiful you are

and you are, oh how you are.

Stars shine out from the night sky that you are

and you are, oh how you are

and you're so near

but I'm so far.
