Commentary
Ah, such a beautiful,  bright yet dark, hopeful, dreadful, impossible relationship.
It had to end in tears.  On reflection,  that relationship was probably just a minor chapter in her life, serving to contrast with the more familiar sequence of tragedies.  A mother's love for her child is frequently eulogised; so how do we react when a particular mother is a violent psychopathic bully?  I still hold tremendous contempt for the woman I never met whose enduring influence destroyed my relationship with someone I loved.

And what shall I now tell the world

about a love which strained and groaned?

Intense yet fragile, leapt and faltered,

burning the moments that Time loaned.

And yes I feel the same

And then your reply came!

I love you so much that it hurts.

You love encaged inside your shell.

I reach out but you're out of sight

- a pussy cat trapped down the well.

And so I called your name

but no reply came.

Daddy's girl has fallen down.

How hard she hits the floor.

The floor then hits her in revenge

and then hits her some more

Daddy's girl has fallen down.

How hard she hits the floor.

The floor then hits her in revenge

and then hits her some more

- and then once more.

Men brought you gifts: fear, guilt & pain.

For love instead you turn inside.

But is the seed that grows within

new life or death personified?

And still I called your name.

Your reply never came.

Come, princess, let me dry your tears.

I'll hold you and dispel all your fears.

We'll stay together through the years.

Just let my whispered bidding fill your ears:  Rise again!

 Daddy's girl, you've fallen down.

How hard you hit the floor!

The floor then hit you in revenge

and then hit you some more

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more.

(It’s not supposed to do that.
It’s supposed to support you
but it’s the lowest of the low.)

Stop!  Stop!  Stop!  Stop!

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more

- and then once more

When did you last kiss my photograph?

You used to kiss it every day.

I travelled round the world
to see you on your island.

You went to another island to get away.
